Eritrea's Information Minister, Yemane Gebremeskel, stated that Eritrea has no intention of undermining the Pretoria Peace Agreement. He emphasized that the agreement is fundamentally an internal Ethiopian matter.
The Minister dismissed recurring allegations that "Eritrean troops are present in Ethiopia's Tigray region" as entirely false and aimed at inciting conflict. He clarified that Eritrean forces are fully stationed within their sovereign territory.
Yemane further noted that Eritrea has no interest in exacerbating the internal discord within the TPLF's political leadership, as it would cause unnecessary and avoidable suffering for the people of Tigray.
