Thirty-two Ethiopians who were in difficult and challenging situations in Myanmar have returned to their home country.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Ethiopian Embassy in India, 32 out of 133 Ethiopians who had crossed into Thailand have been successfully repatriated.

It is expected that 43 Ethiopians will arrive this evening, while efforts are ongoing to repatriate 58 others still in Thailand.

Additionally, the Ethiopian Embassy in Japan is working to assist other Ethiopians in difficult situations in Myanmar by facilitating their transfer to Thailand and eventual return to Ethiopia.

The Ministry also urged the public to be cautious of illegal human traffickers who lure people with false promises of employment opportunities in countries where such agreements are not fulfilled.
