'This year, 150,000 grade 12 students will take their exams online,' says Prof. Birhanu Nega.

The Ministry of Education has announced that the national online exam system, implemented last year, will continue.

Education Minister Prof. Birhanu Nega stated that preparations are underway for 150,000 grade 12 students to take their exams online this year.

He made these remarks during a discussion forum on general education development.

At the forum, he emphasized, 'We must work to ensure that all Ethiopians have equal access to quality education, bridging the gap between the rich and the poor.'

'Transforming this country is possible only by reforming the education system,' he added.

He stressed the need to improve teaching and learning in government schools and to ensure the 'Education for Generations' school development initiative continues effectively.

On another note, he revealed that to address the shortage of teachers, citizens who have graduated in various fields of study will be offered specialized teaching (pedagogy) training to enter the profession.
