Fake limestone Pistol Used in Robberies Leads to Arrest in South West Shewa
A suspect using a fake pistol made from obsidian stone to commit robberies has been arrested in South West Shewa Zone. The individual, known for multiple thefts, was caught with community-police collaboration.

An individual who used a fake pistol made from limestone to commit robberies has been apprehended.
The South West Shewa Zone Police announced that a person who had been committing robberies using a fake pistol made from limestone in Wench'i Woreda, South West Shewa Zone, has been arrested. Deputy Inspector Tiglut Legesse, head of the Communication Office at the South West Shewa Zone Police Command, told Bisrat Radio that the suspect is named Mosisa Melse.
The suspect crafted the fake pistol from limestone, painted it black to make it look real, and used it to carry out robberies. According to the police, the suspect admitted to stealing money, mobile phones, and various other items.
In a related incident, another individual involved in robbery activities was arrested in South West Shewa Zone, Sodo Dache Woreda, through the collaboration of the community and the police. The suspect, who had been engaged in robbery for many years and was well-known in the area as a notorious thief, was caught with his weapon. Deputy Inspector Tiglut Legesse added that the investigation file has been completed and will be promptly forwarded to the justice authorities.
